Background Info

People have been testing cosmetics on animals for over 80 years. It is mainly rabbits but guinea pigs, rats, mice, dogs, and even monkeys are tested on. The purpose of testing on these animals is to protect companies from lawsuits.
In the animal testing facilities, over 148,000 rabbits are killed each year from decapitation, neck-breaking, asphyxiation, or other inhumane ways. Big corporations including Clorox, L’Oreal, and Vaseline test on rabbits. Even companies like Pampers that don’t sell cosmetics test on animals.
The rabbits are kept in small cages with barely enough space to move around and they are not being fed proper diets.
Among the tests performed on these rabbits, the worst ones are called the Draize Eye and Skin tests. The rabbits are restrained and get painful chemicals dripped into their eyes or spread onto their skin where the fur was shaved off. These tests are purposely made to cause irritation and they are only 40-60% accurate.

Ways To Help !

When shopping, look for labels with a bunny on it. Each label has a different meaning, but all of them mean that the product has not been tested on animal.

Alternatives !

There are many alternatives to cosmetic testing, the main ones are testing on human tissue and cells, advanced computer-modeling techniques, and using human volunteers.

买东西的时候，找有兔子的商标。每一个长膘的意思是不一样的，但是每一个都表示这样东西没有在兔子上实验。
